INFLUENZA (flu) is a serious contagious illness caused by the influenza virus. It is spread through sneezes and coughs that send germs into the air and infect people of all ages.
Although the flu and common cold are both respiratory illnesses, they aren’t the same. In general, the flu is much worse than the common cold, and symptoms such as fever, body aches, extreme tiredness, and dry cough are more common and intense. Colds are usually milder than the flu. Complications from flu include serious health problems such as pneumonia and bacterial infections that may result in hospitalizations.
Influenza vaccination is the most effective way to prevent Influenza.
